Tim Duncan was one of the most clean-cut players in NBA history. But the legendary San Antonio Spurs star has come into a much different look – and overall vibe – since retiring from the game.
The 19-year NBA veteran retired from the game following the 2015-16 season. Duncan, who starred collegiately at Wake Forest, played his entire career with the Spurs. He led the Western Conference franchise to five NBA championships and won two NBA MVP awards.
Duncan coached for a bit, working for the Spurs in 2019-20, though he stepped away from coaching following that year. Duncan remains close to the game and Sunday night, he made an appearance at the Spurs vs. Warriors game.

Duncan attended the Sunday night NBA game with his wife, Vanessa Duncan. NBC Sports Bay Area tweeted out a photo of Duncan, rocking long braided hair and a scruffy beard, on Sunday evening.
NBA fans could barely recognize him. Many took to social media to weigh in on the look of the former No. 1 overall draft pick, with several tweets going viral on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Duncan giving off: I said we don’t worry about a thing , coz every little thing is gonna be alright,” one fan wrote.
“Tim Duncan is my spirit animal…” one fan added.
“From the nba to cool runnings. My dawg a real island boy and he let it show moment he was done in the league lol,” one fan added.
“Since when he start looking like Lenny Kravitz,” another fan added.
Duncan grew up in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Clearly, he’s been loving the more relaxed vibes that come with being a retired player who made hundreds of millions of dollars during his career. And it’s great to see it.
This is far from the first time that Duncan has been spotted for his new look, but it doesn’t stop people from reacting like this when they see him.
