With a massive arena tour in the works for 2026, it seems that Guy Sebastian is going back to ‘humble’ beginnings to prepare.
The former Voice mentor, 44, was recently spotted serenading diners at a Western Sydney RSL Club.
TikTok user bisdakinaustralia took to the platform to share a clip of the Idol star’s surprising gig at Bistro 1925 at the recently opened Cabravale Club Resort in Canley Vale.
Dressed casually in a blue and white striped top, white jeans and matching cap, Guy hit the stage solo.
With acoustic guitar in hand, Guy delivered a pitch-perfect rendition of his 2012 hit, Battle Scars.
‘Guy Sebastian at Cabravale Club Resort visit and dining with us at Bistro1925,’ the caption read.

Many took to the comments to claim that Guy had ‘come down in the world’ by playing at an RSL.
‘Times must be tough,’ one follower quipped, while another offered a cutting: ‘Lol, Temu Guy.’
Jumping to his defence, others were quick to point out Guy’s appearance was to usher in the opening of a mammoth $230 million resort development.
Cabravale pumped a lot of money into its recent unveiling… which is why he was there,’ one fan wrote.
‘He was probably paid a lot of money. Doesn’t anyone watch the news anymore?’
Another offered: ‘Why is there so much hate for Guy Sebastian? The music he puts out is still good. Seems so unwarranted.’
Cabravale Club Resort officially opened its doors last month with a performance from Guy, lion dancers, drone shows and fireworks.
As part of the celebrations, Guy was also joined by wife Jules to chat about the couple’s youth mental health initiative The Sebastian Foundation.

After the video of the performance was posted to social media, many took to the comments to claim that Guy had ‘come down in the world’ by playing at an RSL

The ritzy new venue comes complete with a hotel, swimming pool, steakhouse and an aquarium in the lobby.
Guy’s ‘humble’ gig comes after a less-than-stellar personal appearance in Darwin back in August.
Only a small crowd lined up to meet the former chart topper and Australian Idol winner at his album signing session.
Store bosses insisted around 40 people queued up to meet and greet the star at the JB Hi-Fi shop in Darwin’s Casuarina Square.
But Daily Mail staff at the scene put the real figure closer to just eight – and the event ended abruptly after he met a young fan.
The child had painted a picture of the 43-year-old singer and wanted him to keep it, but Guy tried to graciously refuse to accept the gift.
Guy said it would be better if she kept it, and added that it looked ‘amazing’.
Instead, he offered to sign the picture, telling the child her painting made him look like a ‘police officer’ and that she had ‘nailed it’.

Shortly after, the singer and his entourage departed, Guy looked weary but managed a smile for the loyal few before departing.
The singer, who won the first series of Idol in 2003, made the trip to the Top End capital for the official launch of his tenth studio album 100 Times Around The Sun.
He is set to embark on a 15-date national arena tour to promote the album.
Guy also faced a similar situation when he performed at Apple Store on Sydney’s George Street in August.
In a video uploaded to Reddit, Guy performed a passionate rendition of Battle Scars as fans watched on.
Social media users flooded the post to poke fun at Guy’s recent Sydney performance.
‘And the crowd goes mild,’ one person wrote below the post.
Another quipped: ‘Who approved his busking licence?’
‘Did you get the phone cable you were looking for or was Guy blocking the shelf?’ one social media user joked.
