He’s established his TV career working across Channel 7 and Channel 10 over the past two decades, but Grant Denyer has made a surprising announcement. The Gold Logie winner has joined Channel 9 for the first time in his career as the host of the brand new series TopKnotz.

The 10-episode series also features fellow Channel 10 personalities Miguel Maestre, best known for hosting Ready Steady Cook and The Living Room, and big-wave surfer Felicity Palmateer, who competed on Australian Survivor in 2021 and 2023. The trio will be joined by veteran stuntman Rob Palmer and seasoned presenter Tom Williams.

Together, the all-star lineup will take on a global, full-throttle adventure across seven countries, diving headfirst into the world of marine leisure like never before.

The team will face raging rapids in New Zealand, compete in oceangoing Formula One – a Sailing GP race – and attempt record-breaking feats that push both skill and sanity to the limit.

Channel 9 has announced that the series will premiere on Thursday, November 27, at 8:30pm.

‘Ludicrously wonderful’

Grant shared in a statement from the network that TopKnotz is honestly “the best project [he’s] ever worked on”.

“With Australia’s most loveable lunatics by my side, I’ve broken ribs laughing uncontrollably and thought I was going to die, as we turn the travel and adventure genre on its head by doing the most outrageous stuff in the world’s most incredible locations,” he said.

“This show is the hour-long holiday you didn’t know you needed, with a touch of Jackass, breathtaking beauty, and a ton of idiocy. It’s a ludicrously wonderful and unexpected watch.”

Major change to Deal or No Deal in 2026

The announcement comes just a few weeks after Grant attended Channel 10’s 2026 Upfront event and announced the return of Deal or No Deal, which he has hosted since January 2024.

The game show will air at a new time slot next year at 6:30pm, and will be followed by the reboot of Millionaire Hot Seat, hosted by Rebecca Gibney.

Grant Denyer was previously employed by Channel 7, working as the weather presenter on Sunrise and host of Carols in the Domain, among other roles.

He then joined Network Ten in 2014 as host of the game show Family Feud, and has since appeared as a contestant on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and The Amazing Race Australia.
