Captain of the Montreal Canadiens, Nick Suzuki, is very involved in the team’s decisions, and that’s a great thing.

What’s enjoyable for fans as well is that Suzuki is a bit less rigid (in press conferences) than Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton can sometimes be, so by listening to him speak, we can pick up some interesting information.
This isn’t the first time it has happened, but Suzuki just let slip some very intriguing information about the hot topic of the moment, the NHL trade deadline.
Kent Hughes refuses to announce whether he is a seller, buyer, or neutral at the 2025 trade deadline: Nick Suzuki gives us the answer
We’re already in March, so of course, the NHL trade deadline is generating a lot of buzz.
A trade could literally happen at any moment, and it’s expected that Kent Hughes will make at least one move, but we still don’t know what type of transaction to anticipate.
Well, Captain Nick Suzuki just gave us a strong hint.
The captain of the Montreal Canadiens, Nick Suzuki, on the fact that the team wants to win as many games as possible before the trade deadline:
“We haven’t received a message from Kent [Hughes] saying we’re sellers or anything like that, so we’re making an effort to make his job difficult.”

Wow! This means that, unlike last year, the Canadiens’ management, Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton, have NOT told the players they are sellers at this trade deadline.
This is extremely interesting information and supports what David Pagnotta reported, that Kent Hughes is trying to finalize a trade today that he would normally complete in June (for a young impact player).
Names like Dylan Cozens and Trevor Zegras are being widely discussed.
It will be fascinating to watch in the coming days.
