The legendary NBA star has been very supportive of Clark – and women’s basketball in general. But over the weekend, in the wake of Clark’s season-opening triple double in a blowout win over the Chicago Sky, LeBron took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and was promptly criticized.

“TRIPLE DUB CC!! Great way to kick off the season!” he wrote.

While that seems like a completely fair tweet, some WNBA fans were bothered that LeBron chose to praise Clark and not mention Angel Reese.

WNBA fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to call out LeBron for his post.

“speak about angel too,” one fan wrote in a post that has been liked 605 times.

“Angel is built different too,” one fan added.

“They about to say he hates black women,” another fan wrote.

Most people, though, are coming to LeBron’s defense in the wake of his post.

“It’s very simple yall, CC is signed with Nike, Angel is signed with Reebok. Signing with Nike gets you more co-signs. He often praises Aja Wilson as well, guess who she’s signed to? 🤔😂 the whole NBA and WNBA and really just promo leagues for Nike,” one fan wrote.

“Everybody mad at bron for shouting out cc and not angel because she signed with Reebok lol,” one fan added.

“Guys, angel reese was -20 and her team lost by 35 – thats why he aint tweeting bout her,” one fan added.

While the Nike angle is probably a factor, this mostly comes down to the fact that Caitlin Clark had an incredible game, posting a triple-double in a blowout win.

What should LeBron have said about Angel Reese, given that her team lost by 35 points?
