THE RUNDOWN
Coco Beeby has been announced the winner of Big Brother Australia 2025.
On November 9, 12 contestants entered the revamped Big Brother house at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast.
One day later, a 13th housemate, Jane, entered the house.
The season is going back to its roots, with host Mel Tracina telling ELLE Australia it is meeting “the needs of the current-day audience”.
The 2025 season of Big Brother has officially returned to Channel 10 and though it’s too early to tell whether it will grip the nation like the original did, it’s looking more positive than it has in years. The original format is also back, with live nominations, live eliminations (plus, of course, public voting), and an around the clock Big Brother live stream all being hallmarks of the 2025 season.
On November 9, 12 contestants entered the Big Brother house, ready to try their luck on the world’s most famous social experiment. Cut off from the outside world, this year’s season will take us back to basics, where we’ll watch the contestants figure out how to fill their time while entirely without communication with their loved ones, or any real form of entertainment.
The drama started quickly this season, with the housemates not receiving their luggage after entering the house and the public immediately being asked to have their say on who kicks off the season inside the house. That’s right, shortly after the contestants entered the house, the public voted for the first time this season, choosing between two hopeful housemates (Jane and Mitch) and decide which would become the 13th person to compete in the 2025 Big Brother season. That person, was Jane, a 67-year-old Trump supporter who became the oldest housemate in the history of the show.

Coco, 30, Early Education
New South Wales
Coco Beeby was the surprise winner of Big Brother Australia 2025. The 30-year-old mother of three described herself as bold, bubbly, and a little bit bogan. The single mother of three had recently walked away from a marriage that wasn’t working out and was ready to start fresh with some new experiences in the Big Brother house. She admits that she thinks she’ll struggle in the house, being so far from the ocean and jokes that she’ll be keeping her eye out for a cute boy. “I’m a little bit like Vegemite,” she says. “A little bit goes a long way.” She may have just found one in Bruce.

Colin, 21, Aspiring MMA Fighter

Colin is described as being a “livewire from Woollongong”, but he would describe himself as an aspiring MMA fighter and mama’s boy. “I can talk under water,” he jokes. “I’m like an Energiser bunny except with more jokes and less common sense.”

Emily, 30, Primary School Teacher
Western Australia
Emily is like an onion, as in, she has a lot of layers. A primary school teacher from Western Australia, she is also a germaphobe and hypochondriac, and she has a big heart and quick wit. “I’m funny, I’m flawed, and I’m fully aware of it,” she says.

Bruce, 25, Tradesman
Queensland
“G’day g’day, my name’s Bruce, and I’m a tradie,” is how Bruce first introduced himself to the Australian public, and honestly, that sounds like a fair and accurate introduction. “I’m just a bloke who likes to have a good time if you know what I’m saying,” he says, adding a wink to the camera. “I’m bad news but in the best way.” He also explains that he has pretty “old fashioned” views about relationships and says that “men should provide” and “women should raise the kids”. Okay, sure, Bruce, sure.

Allana, 45, Social Worker
Queensland
Allana admits that she is likely to bring energy and do a few cringe things while in the Big Brother house, and she says she loves to belt out tunes on the piano while sipping away on a gin (relatable). “I might tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear,” Allana warns. “My greatest accomplishment is raising my three sons.”

Jane, 67, Retired
Victoria
Jane entered the Big Brother house as the 13th contestant, and she’s already an interesting character. An out-and-proud Trump supporter, fans of the show were not happy when they found our her political leanings after already having voted her in. For Jane’s part, she describes herself as a single mother who has two sons and four grandsons, and she said she isn’t your typical grandma. With a suitcase packed with sparkles and bold colours, she says she’s a straight shooter who always tells it like it is.
Every Housemate Who’s Been Evicted From Big Brother 2025, So Far

Michael, 49, Publisher
New South Wales
Michael is a single father from the Eastern Suburbs in Sydney and has zero tolerance for “woke people”. He’s also a CEO of his own publishing company. Michael was the first housemate to be evicted from Big Brother 2025, and during the live show where he exited the house, he repeatedly stressed that he had a lot of emails to get back to, much to the confusion of the show’s host, Mel Tracina, and everyone watching on from home.

Vincent, 21, Barber
Victoria
Born and raised in regional Victoria, Vincent is a barber who grew up making wine, salami, and passata with his nonno, and he says he’ll be bringing his “nonna’s flair into the house”, to make strangers feel more like family. “I may be young, but I am an old soul,” Vinnie said in his opening video package. “I’m a bit of a flirt and can be cheeky when I want to be.”

Mia, 23, Bunnings Shop Assistant
Victoria
Mia works as a Bunning Shop Assistant and plans to bring her own signature brand of chaos to the Big Brother house. A proud South Asian woman, Mia is passionate about inclusivity and representation and says she’ll bring “challenging chats and a loud mouth to the house”. “I would describe myself as wild and precious, but I think, in other words, that means I’m just a handful,” she says in her intro package. “I’m single and I’ve never been in love… but not for a lack of trying.”

Conor, 31, Disability Advocate
Queensland
Conor is also from Queensland and is a disability advocate who lives with Tourette’s syndrome. He’s a larrikin who loves to crack jokes and bring the energy to the party. “I’m basically a human golden retriever: happy and bubbly,” he says.

Edward, 30, Sales Manager
South Australia
Not only is Edward the youngest of six kids but he’s also a twin, which means he’s probably pretty used to spending time in a chaotic household. Surely, that bodes well for his fate in Big Brother. “People who are selfish get on my nerves,” he admits, adding that “I wear my heart on my sleeve”.

Abiola, 24, Musician
Victoria
Abiola plans to be nothing but their true self when entering the Big Brother house, saying she is a “fat, Black, lesbian” in her intro package, joking that “that’s me, baby!” The musician has a vibrant personality. “If there’s one thing I can’t living without, it’s music,” Abiola says. “I think the type of housemate I’m going to be is loud, very fidgety, I’m a clean freak, so I might be on people for their dishes.”

Holly, 31, Model
Western Australia
Holly is a model who hails from Western Australia, but she’s called many places around the globe home. Now, she lives in Sydney and she prides herself on having an “untamed” energy that’s impossible to ignore. “Without wanting to sound superficial, the caviar at Bert’s is always a way to put a big smile on my face,” she says. “[I’m] full of life, full of energy. You guys can expect a whole lot of entertainment.”
Who Is Hosting Big Brother In 2025?
Big Brother is being hosted by Mel Tracina, who is also the Culture Correspondent on Channel 10 comedy show, The Cheap Seats and the host of a national daytime radio show on Nova. When speaking to ELLE Australia, she revealed why she was so thrilled to take on the role. “As a fan of the show, I was most excited to discover that the show was returning and reverting to the OG format,” she explained, referring to the live evictions and nominations, and of course, the 24-hour livestream.
“The audience is encouraged to vote, to have their say on various tasks throughout the season and, of course, to choose who is crowned the winner of Big Brother 2025,” she told ELLE. This level of engagement is missing in most other shows. The ability to live stream the house 24/7 also gives audiences access to the housemates like never before. Not only can you watch at anytime, but you can also engage with fellow Aussies in online chat and discuss situations, conversations and relationships.”
Will There Be Intruder Housemates In Big Brother 2025?
For the uninitiated, an intruder housemate is one that shows up late. Often dumped into the Big Brother house in a sudden and dramatic fashion, intruders are typically sent into the house after the half way point, once everyone is comfortable and has suitable sized up their competition. It’s not confirmed whether this season will see one or more intruders enter the Big Brother house, but with the format having such a stellar return to form, we think it’s likely there will be.
