Jennifer Aniston’s new beau isn’t just a hypnotherapist and spiritual healer, he also believes he was a Native American in a past life – something he discovered on national TV, Daily Mail can reveal.

The Friends star, 56, recently confirmed her romance with hunky wellness guru Jim Curtis, after the couple were spotted canoodling on a yacht during a romantic getaway in Spain last week.

The pair, who were reported to be longtime friends, are said to have bonded over their shared interest in spirituality and hypnosis – and dogs.

Now, insiders have revealed that Curtis, 49, is an influential figure in the alternative wellness world, which began with his dramatic spiritual awakening in front of a live audience 30 years ago.

‘Jim is a big proponent of past life regression and its healing potential,’ a source told Daily Mail.

‘He was invited on the Maury Povich show to do a past life regression with Dr. Brian Weiss, who is one of the pioneers of using past life regression as a therapy technique.

‘That’s when he discovered he was a Native American in a past life.’

Curtis spoke about the bizarre experience during a recent appearance on Emily Fletcher’s podcast, ‘Why Isn’t Everyone Doing This?’ in June.

‘I was regressed into a past life, I don’t know, maybe a year ago. The first time I was regressed into a past life was with Dr. Brian Weiss…,’ he told the host.

‘I became a student of his too and we went on the Maury Povich show and all these talk shows for it.

Recalling the experience, he said: ‘Yeah he hypnotized me, regressed me, and then [we] came and talked about it on national television.’

‘I realized I was a Native American Indian. He took me back to the point of my death and I was killed. I was shot.’

Curtis went on to explain that the encounter came about when he was only 20 years old, after he began dating a production assistant in New York who asked if he was interested in participating in the show.

‘She’s like, “you know, [Maury] is having this guy, Dr. Brian Weiss on [the show] and he needs people to hypnotize and regress into a past life, are you up for that?” And I’m like, “absolutely, I am!’ he told Fletcher.

Today, Curtis is billed as a transformational coach, master hypnotherapist, and author.

Besides his work as a spiritual healer, he’s also a big dog lover, another trait he shares with Aniston.

‘Jim is probably one of the biggest animal lovers I know,’ the source added.

‘He’s all about rescue dogs and that’s what really sealed the deal with Jennifer. Their love for dogs. His dog Odie is pretty much with him 24/7.

‘Let’s face it, Jennifer hit the jackpot with Jim. What’s not to like about him? He’s a cool guy and down to earth.

‘He’s really well liked in the healing community. He’s not a poser or arrogant like so many wannabes out there.’

Daily Mail earlier this week revealed the lovebirds have been friends for several years but had kept it all very undercover away from curious eyes.

‘All of their early dates were at her home in Los Angeles,’ a source dished.

That home is the actress’s Bel Air mansion that she purchased in 2012 with ex-husband Justin Theroux for $21million.

Aniston’s interest in spirituality and wellness can be seen throughout her home, where she has an outdoor ‘zen’ area with a bubbling water pot and spiritual temple structure.

She has also adorned the inside of her home with Buddha statues and other spiritual figures.

Curtis is known to regularly posts inspirational quotes and ‘manifestations’ on social media.

He is also the the author of, Shift: Quantum Manifestation Guide: A Workbook for Coding a New Consciousness and The Stimulati Experience: 9 Skills for Getting Past Pain, Setbacks, and Trauma to Ignite Health and Happiness.

Jennifer – who has been following Jim on Instagram for the past few years – revealed in May that she was reading Shift: Quantum Manifestation Guide.

And earlier, speaking to Travel and Leisure magazine, she admitted that she had been hypnotized to overcome her ‘extreme fear of flying’.

‘He is very spiritual and she loves to ask him questions about fate and karma. They bounce ideas off each other,’ one source.

Jennifer – who was previously married to Brad Pitt from 2000 until 2005, and then Theroux from 2011 until 2017 – sparked romance rumors after she was spotted with the life coach on vacation in Mallorca, Spain, during Fourth of July weekend.
