Married At First Sight‘s Jules Robinson has hit back at negative messages “pouring in” over her Melbourne Cup Day dress.

Jules wore a pink and green striped look gifted by brand Pasduchas to Flemington on Tuesday, and after sharing photos of herself in it, Jules said “now the comments and DMs are pouring in… yes, long DMs, like a small novel”.

“Yesterday I wore a dress that was too small for me,” she explained, adding that the dress was gifted, made for her and sent directly to Melbourne without her trying it on first.

Despite still simply wearing the dress because she loved it, Jules said she had been receiving cruel messages.

“Apparently, I ‘looked ridiculous in that dress’. My body was overanalysed, from my shoulders to my stomach, by someone who said they were just trying to ‘help’,” she wrote to her 745,000 Instagram followers.

Jules said she’d spent years learning to feel confident in her own skin and was not going to let rude comments from strangers get to her.

“Women are not public property for nasty critique. We don’t need your ‘stylist advice’ disguised as insults,” she shared.

“Confidence looks good on everyone. And I promise kindness does too.”

Despite knowing her look didn’t quite fit right, Jules dug deep, felt good and had a great day.

“It’s wild the energy people put into picking apart a dress on someone else’s body. At the end of the day, it’s just a dress. No one was hurt, no crimes were committed, the fashion police won’t fine me,” she said.

“The world won’t end because a woman wore something that was a little small!”

To illustrate her point, Jules also shared a snippet of a lengthy message she’d received.

“This is just one of them… wow,” she reacted.

It’s far from the only time Jules has called out negative troll comments on social media.

In May 2024, after receiving negative comments while pregnant with her second child, Carter, Jules advised her followers on how to deal with it.

“Like all bad things, you have to CUT the cord. If anyone is giving you a hard time on here, block or restrict… it’s really satisfying,” Jules concluded.
