NBA fans were confused upon learning about the punishment for all parties involved in the Sunday brawl between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons.
Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo of the Timberwolves and Ron Holland II of the Pistons started the fight that resulted in seven people, coaches and players included, being ejected.
Executive Vice President and Head of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars announced that Isaiah Stewart was suspended for two games for escalating the initial altercation. Marcus Sasser, Holland, Reid and DiVincenzo were suspended for one game.
Many fans couldn’t understand the suspensions, more specifically the one Stewart received.

“Am I blind, wasn’t it Donte that started it all why did Isaiah Stewart get a longer suspension,” one fan questioned.
“Nicely done Joe D, the guys escalating get softer punishments,” another fan said.
“Why don’t we suspend the ones who start it longer than the ones who were defending themselves,” a third fan said.
“(Expletive) yall!! DiVincenzo was the aggressor and escalated that whole thing,” a fourth fan said.
“Naz and Dante getting less then Stew is baffling. They were clearly the aggressors,” a fifth fan wrote.
“Surprising, thought the league would be much harsher with the suspensions especially with Stewart,” a sixth fan said.
Reid and DiVincenzo will serve their suspensions in tonight’s game against the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena. Stewart will start serving his two-game suspension on Wednesday when his Pistons clash with the Oklahoma City Thunder, which will also help Holland and Sasser serve their one-game suspension.
Stewart will likely return on Saturday against the Memphis Grizzlies after missing Friday’s game against the Toronto Raptors.
