As the NHL season unfolds, the rumor mill is once again swirling with speculation, and few stories are generating as much buzz as the potential connection between Jordan Kyrou and the Montreal Canadiens. For months, whispers of a blockbuster trade have lingered in the background, fueled by offseason rumors, insider reports, and the ever-present hopes of Canadiens fans longing for a game-changing move. Yet, despite the excitement and anticipation, one thing remains clear: the saga is far from over, and the next chapter could be even more dramatic than anyone expects.
Last summer, the hockey world watched closely as Kent Hughes, Montreal’s savvy general manager, reportedly explored every possible avenue to bring Kyrou to the Canadiens. The talented St. Louis Blues forward was the subject of constant speculation, with rumors suggesting that Hughes was ready to make a bold offer. But as negotiations stalled, it became apparent that Blues GM Doug Armstrong’s asking price was simply too steep, leaving fans wondering if the dream had slipped away for good.
Fast forward to the present, and circumstances have shifted in ways few could have predicted. The St. Louis Blues, a team once considered a perennial contender, have stumbled out of the gate, struggling to find their rhythm and sinking in the standings. Frustration is mounting, and the pressure on Armstrong to shake things up is growing with each passing game. Suddenly, the prospect of a major roster overhaul doesn’t seem so far-fetched—and Jordan Kyrou’s name is once again at the center of trade discussions.
What makes this situation even more intriguing is the possibility that Kyrou himself might be open to a move. According to recent reports, the dynamic winger could be willing to waive his no-trade clause for a chance to join the Canadiens, a decision that would send shockwaves through the league and potentially lower the price required to make a deal happen. For Kent Hughes, this is no ordinary opportunity; it’s a chance to add a proven offensive weapon to a young, hungry roster, and to accelerate Montreal’s rebuild in dramatic fashion.
But the story doesn’t end there. With the Blues languishing near the bottom of the standings and the pressure mounting on Armstrong to act, the timing of any potential deal could be critical. Will Hughes seize the moment and pull the trigger on a franchise-altering trade? Or will the Blues rally, forcing Kyrou to stay put and putting the rumors to rest—at least for now? And how will Kyrou himself respond to the uncertainty, especially after a recent benching that has only intensified the spotlight on his future?
As the days tick by and the stakes grow higher, one thing is certain: the situation is fluid, and the outcome is anything but predictable. For fans, analysts, and insiders alike, the possibility of Jordan Kyrou donning a Canadiens jersey is the kind of storyline that demands attention—and raises countless questions about what comes next.
To discover what’s really happening behind the scenes, and to understand why this potential move could reshape the future of two franchises, you’ll need to read on.

Even though Jordan Kyrou wasn’t traded to the Montreal Canadiens during the offseason, nothing suggests that Kent Hughes has abandoned the idea of acquiring him.
We recall that numerous rumors linked the St. Louis Blues forward to the Canadiens last summer, but the price demanded by Blues GM Doug Armstrong was likely too high.
However, according to Marco D’Amico, the Blues’ poor start to the season could push Armstrong to trade certain players, including Jordan Kyrou.
It’s confirmed: the Montreal Canadiens will be interested in Jordan Kyrou if he becomes available, and Kent Hughes is simply waiting for the St. Louis Blues’ decision regarding their forward
As reported by DansLesCoulisses.com, Kyrou might even be willing to waive his no-trade clause to join the Canadiens, which would likely lower the asking price from the Blues general manager.
“After all, things are going badly right now for the Blues. The team isn’t off to a good start and, if it continues, we could see some guys becoming available on the trade market.
If that happens, Kyrou’s name could end up among that group.
And Marco D’Amico sees the Canadiens being interested in him if the Blues decide to go down that road, and if the player in question is willing to waive his no-trade clause in order to be traded to Montreal.”

At the time of writing, the Blues sit 31st in the overall standings, and if things don’t change quickly, Kent Hughes may once again get a call from Doug Armstrong.
As we reported earlier this week, Jordan Kyrou’s benching wasn’t just a wake-up call, Montgomery made it clear that anyone can sit if this start continues. Now the real question is how Kyrou responds, because the spotlight on him isn’t fading anytime soon.
