Former Bachelorette star Bill Goldsmith and his partner Issy Eisermann have shared the heartbreaking news that their baby girl was “born sleeping” at 27 weeks. The pair shared a tribute to Olive, who was born on October 31st.

“Our sweet girl, Olive May Goldsmith, was born sleeping on Thursday, 31st October at 4:14am at 27 weeks,” they wrote on Instagram. “She put up the strongest fight, especially these last few weeks, with all odds against her and continued to surprise the doctors and midwives with her strength to hold on, until she no longer could.”

The couple described their baby girl as “beyond perfect”.

“Olive had her mum’s lips, smile lines, and cheeks, and her dad’s long legs,” they said.

“We have never known a love like this and have never felt a pain like this.

“The words ‘I’m sorry, there is no heartbeat’ will haunt us forever.”

Bill, who appeared on Ali Oetjen’s Bachelorette season, and Issy spent three days with Olive in hospital, describing it as “equally the most special and hardest days we will ever live”.

“We cuddled endlessly, showered her with kisses, dressed her, read to her, sang to her, and took her outside,” they said.

“We told her every second how perfect and loved she is. Leaving Olive was the hardest thing we will ever have to do.

“No parent should ever have to say goodbye to their baby or walk out of the hospital without them.”

They shared a message to Olive.

“We love you more than you could ever imagine, Olive. You were a fighter until the end and kept your mum and dad strong throughout the most heartbreaking journey,” the grieving couple said.

Bill and Issy thanked their medical team and their friends and family for their support, saying it’s “something we will forever hold close and be endlessly thankful for.”

“Until we meet again, our sweet girl, Olive,” they finished their post.

The pair’s loved ones and followers shared messages of support.

“Oh my heart. I am so sorry. Such perfection, you are little Olive,” one said.

“Sending all the love and courage in the world. Absolutely heartbreaking.”

“I’m so sorry to hear this, sending so much love,” another added.

Bill and Issy appear to have started dating around 2021.
