The Washington Wizards are having a season to forget. They are currently ranked 15th in the Western Conference, leaving them with no hope of making the NBA playoffs.

However, the franchise is betting on consolidating a young core of players who are capable of leading the project in the long term. One of them is Jordan Poole, who at his young age has already achieved an impressive record in the franchise.

At just 25 years old, Jordan Poole is already leaving his mark with the Washington Wizards. The rising star recently became only the fourth player in franchise history to surpass 200 three-pointers in a single season. After reaching this record, Poole gave a statement about his preparation for the season.

I think I also knew what to expect after talking to BK coming into the summer, knowing what to prepare for, knowing how to work, knowing what type of shots I would get…I think it’s a big part of my game.

I’ve had a good season from the arc for sure,” stated Poole.

Poole’s impressive feat is just part of his standout campaign, as he is also leading the team with averages of 20.4 points and 4.6 assists per game.

While his emergence is pivotal to the Washington Wizards’ NBA future, the team has made significant sacrifices in the present to lay the groundwork for long-term success.

Despite facing criticism, the franchise remains committed to prioritizing its future, a strategy that places Tristan Vukcevic and Alex Sarr in crucial roles both now and moving forward.

By building around a core of dynamic scorers and versatile defenders, Washington aims to establish a strong foundation for sustained competitiveness.

Wizards rookie Alex Sarr opens up after impressive hot streak following injury return

Despite the Washington Wizards’ loss to the Orlando Magic, Alex Sarr delivered an impressive performance, recording 19 points and 10 rebounds. After the game, Sarr was asked if he felt any difference in his game following his recent ankle injury.

“I wouldn’t call it a big change…I feel like it’s maybe just having more experience as I get more games under my belt, and just kind of knowing the game a little better,” stated Alex Sarr.

Despite being in his rookie season, Sarr has already surpassed 19 points in each of his last five games, highlighting his impressive potential.
