The Philadelphia Flyers have put together a solid young core in recent years, but to take the next step in the wide open Eastern Conference, it’s clear that they need some major upgrades to this current lineup.

Perhaps the biggest need for GM Danny Briere and the Flyers is on the blue line, with the team lacking a major x-factor that can lead them forward, with the team reportedly exploring their options.

Young Winger’s Name Comes up in Trade Conversations

On the latest episode of Morning Cuppa Hockey, top NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman gave some insights into conversations around the league, noting that with Philadelphia looking to improve the blue line, Owen Tippett’s name has come up in potential conversations.

Now, this clearly doesn’t read as the Flyers shopping Tippett, but after a red-hot start to the 2025/26 campaign with five goals in six games, it’s no shock that teams are potentially interested in the 26-year old.

Ultimately, it doesn’t appear as though Tippett will be actively shopped at this point in time, but if the former No. 10 overall pick continues his red-hot start, he may be a valuable asset for the Flyers to use to land a star on the blue line.
