Since splitting with girlfriend, Rorie Buckey, in February 2024, fans have had one request of Robert Irwin – can he please be the next Bachelor? While he has previously downplayed the fan requests, the young Australian is currently on the American version of Dancing With the Stars, and there have never been more questions about whether or not the 21-year-old would consider taking on the role.
Robert made headlines this week for a particularly risqué dance on the show, where he took his shirt off. And let’s just say… the fans loved it, with many thanking Witney for her choreography.

During an interview with E! News after the dance aired, Robert was asked about his thoughts on being The Bachelor.
“Speaking of dating and maybe some reality ABC show, do you think you can ever see yourself on another one in the future?” the interviewer said, referencing the dating show.
Robert laughed, and Witney was quick to say, “No.”
“Look, Witney’s just taking over,” Robert said through laughter as she apologised.
“Hey, all I can say is, watch this space,” he added, while Witney chastised him.
“Stranger things have happened… who knows,” the Aussie quipped. “Witney, any thoughts?”
“Absolutely not,” she said protectively.
“We’ll see,” Robert teased.
“You know what it is? I want to do it even more now! Now that I know you don’t want me to do it.”
“This interview is over,” she joked.

Many fans were left divided by the moment, with one fan writing, “We want to see him on The Bachelor, I think a lot of girls will want to fight for his heart. He’s such a cutie, he’s just gold.”
“He is too good for The Bachelor,” another said.
“I love how she is protecting him like a younger brother,” a third said of Witney.
“Immediately answering no to The Bachelor because she knows that’s so toxic.”
“Oh he’s already lined up for The Bachelor,” someone else guessed.
Some even thought that he might be dating Witney, however, the dancer is married to her high school sweetheart, Carson McAllister, and the pair share two sons.
“Witney is happily married everyone and she is acting like a big sister and good friend,” one person said. “You go Witney.”
Others also said that they thought Robert was far too young to be The Bachelor at just 21.
Robert Irwin admits to being ‘distracted’ by the DMs from women
In another interview with ET, Robert and Witney spoke about the Aussie taking his shirt off for their dance this week, and the fact that they will both once again be flooded with DMs from women wanting to date him.
Witney joked, “I had so many moments of regret, I was like, ‘Did I make the right choice, taking his shirt off?’”
When asked if she was showing him the DMs she’s received, she responded, “After the season, because we cannot be distracted.
“He thinks it would be fine, but he cannot.”
When the interviewer asked if Robert was distracted by the DMs, he said unconvincingly, “No…”
He added, “No, it really is flattering, it makes me get very red and I get very awkward.”
“He’s so likeable,” one fan commented on the video.
“This was total Patrick Swayze vibes,” another said of the shirtless moment.
“He’s too good for this world,” a third added.
