We suspected it, but it has now been confirmed for Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine. He will not be accompanying his teammates on the Western road trip and will therefore miss several games due to his lower-body injury.

What a disappointing start to the season for Laine.

Let’s really hope things can turn around for him (and that he can come back healthy as soon as possible), because he really seemed to have worked hard this summer to have a great 2025-2026 season.

He must really be disappointed with his month of October, that’s for sure.

Patrik Laine not traveling with the team: Kirby Dach will return to play soon

That’s what head coach Martin St-Louis just confirmed during his press conference, as we also reported earlier from his live appearance in Brossard.

“Kirby Dach will be on the western road trip and is expected to play. Patrik Laine (lower-body) will not travel with the team.”

This Laine injury is quite strange, but let’s hope things get better quickly.

The topic of goaltenders was also briefly discussed:

“Martin St. Louis says Kirby Dach will make road trip with the Habs and expects him to play at some point. He won’t say who starting goalie will be tomorrow night in Calgary.”

– Stu Cowan

Patrik Laine, 27 years old, earning $8.7 million per year for one more season, is indeed having a disappointing start to the season, but he clearly has the talent to change the narrative about him quickly.

In five games this season, he has 0 goals and 1 assist, with a negative plus-minus of -3.

More details to come.
