On that subject, in the last few hours, former scout Grant McCagg revealed an important piece of information.

We haven’t talked much about this matter in recent weeks, because it doesn’t worry me at all (personally), but I admit that this latest development is surprising.

As part of his latest podcast, Grant McCagg spoke about Lane Hutson.

“Basically, the former scout mentioned that the Hutson camp received only one offer over the summer.

It did not meet the player’s expectations, so he said no.

Because these negotiations aren’t moving very quickly, McCagg expects it to happen next summer.”

The player who won the 2025 Calder Trophy, awarded to the NHL rookie of the year, was a 62nd overall pick by the Tricolore in 2022.
