We learned today, via the site DansLesCoulisses with information from Grant McCagg, that Lane Hutson and his agent reportedly rejected an offer from Kent Hughes earlier this summer.

While many expected the young Lane Hutson to sign a contract extension as early as July, it must be admitted that negotiations are stretching out between the #48’s camp and the Canadiens’ management.

Does this mean we should be worried? Not necessarily, but let’s just say you shouldn’t hold your breath until the contract is signed.

Although Grant McCagg has a credible reputation, it’s still wise to take his information with a grain of salt.

“According to McCagg, the former scout stated that Hutson and his camp received only one offer over the summer.

It did not meet the player’s expectations, so he said rejected it.
