A woman who claims to have dated Married At First Sight star Lachlan Rofe has made shocking allegations against him, following his unexpected death at 47.

Lachlan first appeared on the debut season of the Channel Nine dating show in 2015, where he was paired with Clare Tamas. The following year, he featured on Farmer Wants A Wife.

Beth Dutton alleges she was in a six-month relationship with Lachlan following his stint on Married At First Sight and before his appearance on Farmer. She has shared a scathing TikTok video recounting her experiences with him.

Beth accused Lachlan – who also used the last name McAleer – of being physically abusive, using drugs and displaying narcissistic behaviour, claiming it was ‘the most awful relationship’ she’d ever had.

‘He choked me, he sat on my chest, he threw beer in my face. He was absolutely vicious,’ Beth claimed.

Beth alleged that Lachlan lied about aspects of his life, including his age and his family status.

‘One thing I want to clear up is he’s not 47, he’s about 51… he hated the fact that he was getting old and that he wasn’t married and didn’t have any kids.

‘It was an absolute blessing that he did not have children because he would have been awful to them.’

She went on to claim that Lachlan ‘would have been a good bloke’ were it not for his ‘narcissistic behaviour’.

‘He was absolutely evil,’ she said.

She also claimed that Lachlan’s decision to go on the dating show Farmer Wants A Wife helped her ‘escape’ their relationship, saying: ‘I used that to get away from him’.

She also alleged that Lachlan underwent significant plastic surgery procedures in his search for perfection, claiming he had liposuction, a tummy tuck and a nose job.

Beth later accused Lachlan of using the drug methamphetamine.

‘After I left him, one of his friends’ wives told me that that’s when he started meth. And ever since then, I guess the meth took over; he was also a very heavy drinker, so either he’s died from the drugs or liver failure from the drinking.

‘Good riddance, I say. You can no longer hurt another woman,’ she concluded.

Loved ones confirmed Lachlan’s passing on social media this week, with tributes flooding in for the cattle farmer, who lived on a property in Cawdor, near Camden in New South Wales.

A police statement said: ‘Emergency services were called to a home in Razorback, where they found a man unresponsive.

‘Ambulance paramedics commenced CPR but they were unable to revive him.

‘Investigations are continuing into the circumstances and anyone with any information is urged to contact Camden Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.’

Lachlan was no stranger to headlines during and after his reality TV stint.

In 2017, he was found guilty of assaulting his then-girlfriend Casey Williams in front of her two-year-old daughter following a night of heavy drinking.

Police are investigating his death

He was placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond but later appealed the conviction.

A magistrate eventually overturned the guilty verdict, with Lachlan declaring: ‘Being a man of principle, I chose to clear my name.’

Speaking at the time, he admitted the scandal had left him rattled.

‘I’m too scared to even go see women ‘cos I just feel with everything that’s happened, I just feel like I’m a target,’ he told Channel Seven.

Away from the courtroom, Lachlan was linked to several high–profile women, including fellow Farmer Wants A Wife contestant Belinda Reid and pig hunter Natalie Cepeniuk, who sparked outrage after posting an image of herself with a dead joey. 

Lachlan and Belinda seemed happy together when the show wrapped filming, but less than 24 hours after the finale aired, it emerged the couple had already gone their separate ways.

Lachlan cited distance as the reason for their split and told TV Week: ‘We were trying back and forth and spoke on the phone all the time, but the distance makes it really hard.’ 

He also attracted attention in 2016 when his family’s property was investigated for alleged illegal tree-clearing, which he denied.

‘Everything has been cleared in line with legislation; people are just jealous of me because I’ve got fame,’ he said at the time.
