It’s clear that the confidence of Montreal Canadiens’ Quebec-born goaltender Samuel Montembeault is being tested right now.

However, he received some very good news yesterday during his head coach Martin St-Louis’ press conference!

St-Louis still has full confidence in Montembeault. He knows he’s an excellent goaltender and won’t hesitate to play him!

Good news for Samuel Montembeault: Martin St-Louis still believes in him!

Here’s an excerpt of what the Canadiens’ head coach said yesterday about the man who is technically his number-one goalie:

“Sam is a good goalie. He proved it with everything he did last year. Without Sam, we’re not there last year. When I was a player, I had starts like that and when I had those starts, it’s not like I forgot how to play hockey. Sam will be a big part of our success this year. I’m not worried”

So Samuel Montembeault will continue to play a major role with the Montreal Canadiens!

Let’s wait before immediately naming Jakub Dobes as the number one.

I really hope to see Samuel quickly return to the dominant goaltender he was last season!

Martin St-Louis also added this:

“So when you ask me if I’m worried, the answer’s no I’m not worried.”

It’s great for Samuel to hear that kind of support coming from his head coach, especially after a rough start to the season.

That’s very good news!
