The celebration in South Florida shows no signs of slowing down as the Florida Panthers bask in the glory of their second consecutive Stanley Cup triumph. At the heart of the festivities is forward Matthew Tkachuk, who has become a symbol of resilience and determination for the franchise.
Fresh off another grueling playoff run that saw the Panthers once again deny the Edmonton Oilers their long-awaited championship, Tkachuk took some time to reflect on what makes this year’s victory even sweeter than the last. Speaking candidly in an interview with NHL Network, he shared insights into the team’s ongoing celebrations and the unique challenges they faced on their journey to back-to-back titles.
With the lessons of last year’s whirlwind experience fresh in mind, the Panthers have embraced every moment of this championship summer, savoring the rewards of their relentless hard work both on and off the ice.

Continuing to revel in the glory of winning a 2nd straight Stanley Cup, Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk provides the latest update on ongoing party.
The partying continues in South Florida, as the Florida Panthers remained on top of the NHL world after their 2nd straight Stanley Cup victory over the Edmonton Oilers.
Not only did they win the SCF in 6 games this time around as opposed to 7 games like last year, but they also once again denied the Oilers what would have been their 1st championship since 1990.
Matthew Tkachuk, who later revealed that he was playing through some considerable injuries, joined NHL Network to talk about the ongoing celebrations and what made this year’s title different from last year’s.
It’s been an incredible few weeks, just like last year. I think what was so different this year, comparing it to last year, which maybe made it more fun this time around was that you know what to expect. Last year, we’re waking up every day not knowing what’s coming for that day with the Cup.
We won so late last year too, that it was weird that the Cup had to go to Vegas for the Draft and the Awards, and then it was free agency, so we really only had it for a few days. This year, we had it for a week and a bit, and we did a lot of celebrating. We earned it. We worked so hard on the ice, and we deserve to have a little fun off it.
Tkachuk announced shortly after the 2nd Cup win that he was playing through a torn adductor muscle and a sports hernia injury on the same side, and that his adductor was literally torn off of the bone.
Even so, Tkachuk still played a key role in Florida’s 2nd straight Cup win with 23 points (8G, 15A) in 23 postseason games.
