I don’t understand why this isn’t making more headlines with the Montreal Canadiens.

We talked about it and reported it yesterday, but I just listened to the episode of the podcast by the renowned Elliotte Friedman from Sportsnet, and the best-informed insider in the NHL has indeed clearly stated the following:

“It seems that the Montreal Canadiens are hopeful that this will work out.

Obviously, they have done everything to make it work.”

If they succeed and he comes to finish the year in Montreal, it would be huge for Martin St-Louis’ squad.

Many of you have commented that his contract ends on May 31, which is true, but the Canadiens could reach an agreement with SKA as soon as the KHL season ends.

Why keep Demidov there once the season and playoffs are over?
