One of the most memorable moments from the recent Stanley25 podcast was the story of an incredible gesture made by Josh Anderson.
It happened during the infamous pandemic, and it made a huge difference in someone’s life.
At the time, a Canadiens fan was in the terminal phase of illness, and despite the strict rules imposed by the government, Anderson chose to go meet him.
His family had shared this story but had specified that they did not want the details to be made public at the time.
Anderson did it 100% for the right reasons. He wasn’t looking for recognition in the press or on social media.
He simply made a beautiful gesture, discreetly, without anyone knowing, out of pure humanity.

On top of that, he literally went against certain directives because it was important to him.
“During the Canadiens’ playoff run,
A Canadiens fan wrote to me and said: “Hi, I’m in the terminal phase of illness, and I’m a huge fan of the Canadiens and Josh Anderson.”
The message made its way to the team.
Three weeks later, the fan sent me a photo of himself with Anderson.
We couldn’t share the photo due to restrictions, but Josh Anderson still went to take the picture with the fan even with all the team restrictions set in place.

To me, this shows what kind of person he is. Anderson isn’t just a Habs player, he’s also someone who embodies great values. Four years later, this story deserves to be told.
