Pierre LeBrun, who adds that he truly believes Jake Evans would be traded today if he hadn’t accepted his contract extension.
He believes the Canadiens “couldn’t afford” to keep Jake Evans without a contract extension, suggesting that the trade offers were very appealing.

“At the end of the day, if Jake Evans wasn’t signed [on Friday], I think Kent Hughes takes the second-round pick.”
