We witnessed an unusual but very interesting scene involving Patrik Laine and Lane Hutson after today’s Montreal Canadiens practice.
I love it.
It’s rare to see something like this, but even as the team was preparing to travel and fly to Buffalo, obviously in anticipation of tomorrow’s game against the Sabres, Laine and Hutson refused to leave the ice.
They stayed on the ice for a long time after practice ended to refine their skills and put in some extra time.

Check out the footage.

And they stayed out there for quite a while!
It’s great to see!
Patrik Laine, 26 years old, went through all kinds of struggles before the Four Nations Faceoff break, but since returning, he has been on fire.
In three games since his return, Laine has recorded five points, including two goals, along with eight shots on net.
Seeing him work like this with a young player like Hutson, and vice versa, is really great to watch and encouraging.
Speaking of Laine, let’s remember that he will have a new center to finish the season following the latest announcement from the Montreal Canadiens involving Kirby Dach.
It will be interesting to see the impact on Laine, but in any case, we have to admit that young Owen Beck has been impressive since his call-up by Kent Hughes (from the Laval Rocket) and especially since he was placed on the second line, centering Laine and Alex Newhook.
