The New York Yankees officially have their full squad in Tampa for the start of spring training, which means injuries will begin popping up.
As position players reported to George M. Steinbrenner Field on Sunday, it was revealed that designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton arrived to camp with some injury concerns.

Here’s the latest update on the injury to the Yankees $325 million slugger:
Giancarlo Stanton injury update
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Sunday afternoon that Stanton is “behind schedule” due to injuries in both of his elbows. Boone likened the diagnosis to tennis elbow and declined to say whether Stanton will be ready for Opening Day.
Boone also mentioned that these injuries are something that Stanton played through during the playoffs last season when he was arguably the team’s biggest producer. Stanton hit .273 with seven home runs, 16 RBI and a 1.048 OPS in 62 plate appearances.
While the injury may not seem all that concerning given that he played through it, some questions might be raised with how much time off he’s had.
Stanton is likely going to be the primary protection for superstar Aaron Judge. Losing Juan Soto was bad enough for the Yankees lineup, but any time that Stanton will miss is another massive blow to the offense.
In 114 games last season, Stanton hit .233 with 27 home runs, 72 RBI and a 115 OPS+ (15 percent better than league average).
Injuries are nothing new to Stanton so this will be something to monitor throughout the spring.
