We experienced a very unusual moment on the airwaves of TVA Sports, live on television, involving Dave Morissette and Juraj Slafkovsky of the Montreal Canadiens.

This says a lot about Dave Morissette, and it’s absolutely to his credit.

Basically, during a recent live interview as part of the matchup between the Montreal Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators, Slafkovsky was invited to comment on his recent performances, and he was extremely hard on himself.

99% of hosts or journalists would have simply let it slide, but not Dave Morissette.

He took the opportunity to “respond” to the young Canadiens forward, giving him a valuable life lesson in the process.

Wow, bravo!

Quietly, Morissette has experience, and it’s great to see him try to pass on some of his knowledge to Slafkovsky during a live interview.

Dave Morissette doesn’t want Juraj Slafkovsky to be too hard on himself, and he told him directly

We know that Slafkovsky isn’t afraid to criticize himself very harshly in public.

And he indeed expressed a similar sentiment in his interview with TVA Sports, particularly with Morissette.

“It’s been pretty embarrassing I think the start of this year. I didn’t like my game so I knew that I had to change something, so from now on, I’ll try to play my game this way and we’ll see where it takes me.”

However, as mentioned earlier, Morissette did not let it slide, in a positive and constructive way, of course.

“Juraj, I wouldn’t say embarrassing. You’re 20 years old and you got 20 goals last year and 30 assists. For a 20 year old playing in this league, I wouldn’t say embarrassing. It’s not the season you like but everybody loves you in Quebec..”
