The best hockey player in the world, Connor McDavid, was outstanding today against Finland. I believe McDavid and his teammates had a clear goal: defeat Finland and earn a chance to get revenge against Team USA.
The first step of that plan is complete.
Now, Team Canada must use the disappointment from last Saturday’s loss to their advantage and come back even stronger on Thursday night!
Moments after Canada’s victory over Finland, a statement from McDavid resurfaced and is now circulating everywhere.
Connor McDavid sends a warning and says this story is “far from over”
As a true leader, the future captain of Team Canada made it clear that the tournament was far from over.
“There are a lot of good players here.
It was fast again, with tight, competitive, emotional play.. It had everything you’d expect from a hockey game.
Like I said, it’s unfortunate that it didn’t go as planned, but it’s far from over.”
– Connor McDavid
Now that Finland is out of the way, Team Canada is turning all its attention to the United States.
It will be up to them to play as they did today, up to the star players to step up, and up to them to complete the final part of their plan to avenge last Saturday’s loss against Mike Sullivan’s squad.
If the question of the starting goaltender has been a major topic throughout the tournament, this time, there’s no doubt that Jordan Binnington is expected to be back in net for Canada on Thursday.
He, too, will have a great opportunity to bounce back and show his resilience.
It’s not just McDavid, superstar Nathan MacKinnon also had plenty to say ahead of the highly anticipated game against the United States:
“We love to play them again. We feel like we can beat those guys. We plan on playing a little better Thursday.”
