A body language expert has explained why Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were clearly headed for divorce court as she decoded their “tense” last public sighting together.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban showed signs of “tension” at their last public appearance together just three months before the couple split.

The Aussie A-lister, 58, and her country singer husband, 57, called it quits after 19 years of marriage in a shock move, TMZ confirmed on Monday.

Their split, which has rocked Hollywood, comes as multiple sources told the outlet Nicole and Keith, who share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, had been living apart “since the beginning of summer.”

The Babygirl actress is reportedly “holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone”.

Nicole and Keith were last spotted together on June 20 at the FIFA World Club Cup Group D match between US side Los Angeles FC and Tunisian side Esperance Sportive de Tunis in Nashville, Tennessee.

Kidman wore a white floral dress with her signature strawberry blonde locks styled out, while Keith donned a beige plaid shirt and jeans.

The Aussie star appeared to be in high spirits, grinning, while her husband displayed a more sombre demeanour and did not glance at his wife.

“At one point, Nicole is fiddling with her left hand, which is a sign of tension, but we do not know what it is about,” Mahler told Daily Mail.

“He is looking away, but Nicole is looking at him; it is an odd look.”

Days after their last appearance together, the Babygirl star posted a heartfelt anniversary tribute to her husband.

“Happy Anniversary Baby,” she wrote on Instagram.

Nicole has been living in the UK without Keith at a mansion formerly owned by pop star Boy George, which reportedly costs her an eyewatering AUD $132,000 per month while filming Practical Magic 2.

The Blue Ain’t Your Colour crooner hasn’t been seen at his wife’s home while travelling across the US and Canada with his High and Alive tour.

Reports suggested Keith has since moved out of the couple’s family home in Nashville and purchased another property nearby.

Meanwhile, Nicole applied to become a resident of Portugal, with Urban’s notable absence from the paperwork raising eyebrows amoung fans.

However, insiders claimed Keith intended to sign the documents, but a timetable clash had delayed the move.

“Keith is scheduled to have an appointment at the visa office at a later date as his tour schedule conflicted with the date that Nicole and their daughters were able to secure while Nicole is currently shooting Practical Magic 2 in the UK,” a source told SkyNews.com.au in July.

It’s unclear whether the pair intend to divorce formally.

The Daily Mail source said they never see each other and their romance has completely fizzled out after nearly two decades.

“There was a lot of love between the two and they might not divorce, but there is a world that they both live where neither of them are in it,” the source said.

“Keith and Nicole have been together for decades and there is a world which they can reconcile, but the way their pairing is now, it is not a couple.”
