The Block 2023 record-breaking winners Steph and Gian Ottavio are back on the show!
And they had some very exciting news to share – they’re expecting.
Steph, who is pregnant with their first child, first announced the exciting news in May. In September 2025, the couple shared the joyous news in a special Block episode.

The couple, who broke Block history in 2023 by taking home a record-breaking $1.75 million win, returned to the hit reno show as guest stars for The Rex Theatre challenge.
As Scotty announced the challenge to this year’s Blockheads, he also announced the arrival of the two Block All Stars who had some news of their own.
“Steph, Gian, you have some extra news, don’t you?” host Scott Cam teased.
“Yes we do… we’re pregnant. We’re expecting our first baby!” they revealed.
The couple confirmed they are expecting a baby girl due in October this year.
During filming however, Steph revealed she was 13 weeks pregnant. This year’s Blockhead Emma revealed she was 14 weeks at the time.
“Twins!” Steph reacted as she let out an excited laugh.

During The Rex Theatre challenge, the houses would be split into two bigger teams to renovate a space. To make the teams even, one group would score the help of Block winners Steph and Gian.
Britt and Taz, who are embracing the title of this year’s beige-loving Blockheads, were starstruck.
“We were little fan girls,” said Britt. “It was so good to see them.”

Friends and co-stars rushed to the comments section to celebrate with the reno stars.
“So beautiful. Can’t wait for our little munchkin to be earth side ❤️” wrote Block castmate Liberty Paschke, while sister Eliza simply wrote “Perfection 💕”.
“Beautiful Bella xxxx” shared MAFS‘ Domenica Calarco, who is also expecting her first child very soon.
“So beautiful Steph. You are most definitely glowing 😍” another person wrote.
Steph and Gian’s life since The Block
Getting ready to welcome their first child is far from the only thing keeping Steph and Gian busy, as the pair have launched a business and got stuck into another renovation since winning The Block in November 2023.
They launched homewares and furniture brand Japandi Estate just four months after their incredible win.
The brand offers fans a chance to embrace the style the couple became renowned for on the series, focusing on a timeless, ‘less is more’ approach.

In April 2024, they sold their renovated home in the Sydney suburb of Bexley and swiftly purchased a new home, and renovation project, in the Inner West.
They also put their winnings to good use with some major travel throughout 2024, visiting both regions that inspire their aesthetics.
After renovating the kitchen last year, the couple began a major reno on the “tired” 110-year-old home in March 2025.
They have documented the progress in real time with a YouTube series titled ‘Real Renos’.

In August, they reflected on how it was going.
“We have expanded above, below and wide – restored all of our Queen Anne charm, added more ornamentation but also modern day functionality (more bathrooms!!)” they shared.
“All while growing our family, filming our journey and making incredible memories building our space that our babies will call home, in a community that we love all while we continue to build Japandi Estate.”

Sounds busy, but the couple promised it was just the beginning.
“The end is near and we’re at the finishes stage, aka the most exciting and transformative part!”
With not long to go until they welcome their baby in October, the couple joked it was time for the renovation’s “final push before the actual push”.
Steph and Gian on The Block
Steph and Gian are childhood sweethearts who met on the school bus in year seven and have been together ever since. They married in April 2022, at a lavish ceremony in the Hunter Valley.
The couple became household names when they appeared on The Block Season 19. At 27 years old, they were the youngest contestants of the season.

The Sydney-siders quickly became known for their neutral colour palette and Japandi style and soon became competition frontrunners with five Room Reveal wins across the season.
It all came to a head at Auction Day when they took home a record-breaking $1.75 million win, the biggest profit in Block history.
