My Kitchen Rules is back on Channel 7, bringing all the sugar and spice back to the dinner table.

Manu and Colin are excited to get back on the road and show Australia the diversity of this year’s contestants.

Many of the dishes starring in this season have been passed down through generations or kept “in little copy books that live in the kitchen” Fassnidge said.

With the show kicking off last week, 7NEWS.com.au is excited to share a glimpse of the households Australians are about to become very familiar with over the coming weeks.

Justin and Will: Best Mates from New South Wales

Living and breathing food, fitness and fatherhood, Justin and Will began their bromance 12 years ago when the pair became doting dads.

Drawing inspiration from his South African roots Justin says that food isn’t just about the way it tastes.

“It’s about connection, love, and bringing people together,” he said.

Describing their relationship in the kitchen as “a brotherly type of dynamic,” Will says that although he is a bit of a perfectionist, “Justin is more rustic and cooks with intuition”.

Anne and Maree: Greek Mum and Daughter from Victoria

The mother and daughter dynamic duo, Anne and Maree are bringing all the dancing and laughter back into the kitchen this season.

Bonded by strong family values and a deep pride in their Greek heritage, the pair hope to deliver dishes “full of zest and spontaneity”.

“I learned to cook by watching my mum. I’d sit next to her and ask her questions about why she used certain spices,” Anne said.

Hoping to bring the contestants together, Maree says: “Food brings people together. It has a sense of community and family. Everyone is welcome at our table.”

Michael and Rielli: Opinionated Couple from Victoria

Serving their opinions on every dish, this globetrotting, fitness-forward, lovebirds are a classic yet contrasting pair.

Michael and Rielli balance each other out.

“I bring the cool, calm and collected energy – and the meat – while Rielli brings the finesse and sweet touch,” Michael said.

Rielli said the the theme song for their season would be ‘I Want It All’ from High School Musical 3.

“Michael is definitely Sharpay, and I’m Ryan,” she said.

Sticking to their recipes their “big, bold, meat-forward flavours with a focus on quality ingredients” this pair will dish out everything in their hand.

Maria and Bailey: Boss friends from South Australia

Best friends Maria and Bailey are competitive go-getters who will do anything they can to be the best.

With their sibling-like relationship they push each other through support and teasing.

“We’re the perfect mix of chaos and control — in the best way. Bailey runs the businesses, so he is used to being the boss, but in the kitchen I’m in charge,” Maria said.

Bringing a “nutritious and modern twist to their dishes with an emphasis on presentation”, Bailey said.

In the kitchen, Maria and Bailey try to stay “bold, confident, and unapologetic” Maria added.

Lol and Lil: Besties from Queensland

From OG besties to pest-control administration queens, Lol and Lil have been friends since they were babies.

With eyes on this year’s prize, the pair warn Australia to not underestimate them.

“My grandma is my biggest inspiration. I was in the kitchen with her for as long as I can remember and learned so much from her,” Lol said.

For Lil her passion grew has she got older.

“I always loved watching cooking shows growing up, they inspired me to learn. Cooking for my friends and family brings me so much joy,” she said.

Pushing outside of their comfort zones and proving people wrong, Lol and Lil hope to take your palate around the world.

Mel and Jacinta: Feisty Cousins from New South Wales

Stirring the pot in more ways than one, Mel and Jacinta are keeping a cool confidence ahead of this year’s season.

With dreams of creating a nutritious and healthy cookbook the pair are bringing a vegan and gluten-free twist to their dishes.

“You don’t have to miss out on the good stuff, even if you have dietary restrictions or intolerances,” Mel said.

Drawing on inspiration from the Mediterranean “using simple ingredients to create nourishing meals that bring people together,” Jacinta added.

This duo is all about balance, Mel brings the chaotic fun and Jacinta brings the energy and laughter, unafraid of pushing each others boundaries and strengthening their skills.
