Three outgoing KIIS FM hosts have revealed they are walking off the job earlier than expected following their brutal axing.
It was announced in October that Brisbane breakfast hosts Kip Wightman, Corey Oates and Robin Bailey would be leaving the airwaves by the end of the year.
But the trio said this week they would be wrapping up their show on Friday, despite having two weeks left on air.
They shared a short clip to their Instagram on Thursday with the title ‘2nd last show stitch-up’, confirming their plans to leave earlier than their slated December 12 exit.
The surprise exit comes as Kip and Corey revealed their next career move – a Brisbane Broncos-themed podcast with NRL great Sam Thaiday.
The Unofficial Broncos Podcast with Sammy, Oatsey and Kip is slated to launch in February 2026.

Speaking about the pair’s new appointment, Kip was quick to joke about their recent unemployment.
‘Look, when the radio station said “We’re making changes” we thought that meant new chairs,’ he said in a statement.
‘Turns out the “changes” were us leaving. So yeah, podcasting felt like a natural step down.’
A self-effacing Corey added that he joined the podcast as he didn’t want his KIIS co-star to ‘suffer alone’.
‘Kip lost his job, and I thought, why should he suffer alone?’ he said.
‘Besides, Sammy said he’d shout lunch if I joined, and I’m easily convinced.’
News of the trio’s axing came just a couple of months after former Brisbane Broncos star Corey signed on to the show after retiring from the NRL last year.
In a statement released by ARN, it was revealed that the show’s final broadcast will air on December 12.

A spokesperson went on to praise the hosts for their ‘hard work, creativity and commitment to the Brisbane audience.’
‘Their contribution has been significant and will be celebrated in the weeks ahead,’ the statement added.
However, the trio’s replacement – Craig ‘Lowie’ Low – raised more than a few eyebrows when announced in October.
Insiders slammed the appointment with one telling the Courier Mail the shock jock was a ‘poor man’s Kyle Sandilands‘.
‘I feel so bad that the team is going to be replaced with someone like that,’ the source said. ‘It just makes me sick.’
The source also claimed that Low’s appointment had left the industry ‘gobsmacked’, adding that Low would just be a ‘seat-warmer’ for radio royalty Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.
They added that the Sydney KIIS breakfast show would be nationalised within ‘three to six months’.
ARN’s chief audiences and content officer, Lauren Joyce, said in a statement that Low’s appointment was part of a reinvigoration at the network.

‘The new show, led by Lowie, will bring fresh energy, creativity and pace to mornings in Brisbane,’ she said.
‘It will be everything that KIIS stands for: fun, fearless and completely in tune with its audience.’
However, the insider added that the network was mistakenly targeting a younger demographic with Low’s appointment.
‘They are totally ignoring the over-40s women who are obsessed with that station,’ the insider said.
‘There are already enough radio stations that are covering the younger demographic, so who is going to be looking after the people in that demographic that want to listen to radio.’
