Channel Seven’s shiny new renovation series Reno Rules — starring Adrian Portelli and Dr Chris Brown — hasn’t even aired yet but apparently the behind-the-scenes energy is already… spicy.

Multiple insiders told PEDESTRIAN.TV that Adrian, who previously appeared on rival series The Block, has sparked tension on the new reno series after the billionaire accidentally blew the lid off the show’s biggest twist.

Over the weekend at his massive Phillip IslandLMCT+ giveaway event, Adrian allegedly told thousands of people that the renovated Bulleen homes won’t be auctioned as everyone assumed… they’ll be given away as part of the show’s format.

This was supposed to be Seven’s Big Shiny Twist — something they planned to drip-feed to the public with maximum suspense. Instead, Adrian just said it into a microphone like he was announcing raffle numbers at a school fair.

“Executives were furious,” one production source claimed. “They’d been sitting on this twist for months.”

While the network scrambled to put the lid back on the leaking twist, insiders say Dr Chris Brown was quietly losing colour.

Chris is famously the most prepared human in Australian television. He reads the scripts. He learns the lines. He does the rehearsals. He does not do chaos.

So when Adrian casually detonated the season’s core hook, Chris reportedly went into full internal screaming mode.

“Chris plays everything by the book,” one insider said. “He wasn’t expecting this level of chaos. It’s not how he works.”

Sources say the dynamic between the two hosts is… fascinating. “It’s a real yin-and-yang situation,” one insider said. “Chris is careful. Adrian is kamikaze“.

Expected in 2026, the new reno series chucks four hardworking Aussie teams into two seriously rundown Melbourne houses and telling them to work their makeover magic.

The crews will flip the tired old digs into fully furnished, landscaped designer homes packed with slick, state-of-the-art tech. And, of course, they’re all gunning for a juicy cash prize.
