EXCLUSIVE: The Block judge and real estate expert Marty Fox said it should be a matter of days until the two houses that passed in at auction are sold.
When asked about his confidence in Emma and Ben and Han and Can selling their houses Marty said: “They are very good homes, Daylesford is a very good location. They should be sold this week, if not then next week. It’s that type of offering.”

After House 1 and House 2 failed to sell their homes, and favourites Robby and Mat were left disappointed with a $109,000 profit, Marty had a sobering reminder for the nation.
“This is reality and it can’t be changed,” he told 9Entertainment.
“I think it was reflective of the fact that the clearance rates in Melbourne is in line with what we’ve seen on The Block.”

“It is what it is and some people were winners and some people were losers. You can’t get a truer reflection of what the market is like in the real world,” the WHITEFOX Real Estate founder said.
“What happened shows just how random and sporadic the real estate world can be.”
Like host Scott Cam and the contestants, Marty also believed the reserve prices of $2,990,000 were set too high.
“The properties started out at double the median house price in Daylesford so they were already outliers in the market,” he explained.
“Then there are also five of them which is a bit of an anomaly in itself to find five of the same buyer.
“So I think the true value of these homes and reserves should’ve been at an absolute peak of $2.8 million.”

Throughout the series, Marty predicted that House 3 or 5 would come out on top and that rang true when Britt and Taz sold their home for $420,000 over the reserve price and won The Block 2025.
But Marty was surprised that Robby and Mat’s house, with all its extra amenity, didn’t have more success.
He put it down to the high reserve price.
“If the reserves had’ve been lower anything could’ve happened, because when bidding momentum starts to increase people start to bid emotionally through the power of competition. That’s what we missed.”
When The Block 2025 auction was all said and done Marty, understood the disappointment from some teams but insisted “this is what happens every weekend”.
“Families see the wins and losses in real estate. Some people go through two years of planning and house development and think it’s going to do amazing well and actually lose money.
“There’s people that do this in their own time with their own finances and people need to realise real estate isn’t all rainbows and butterflies and roses.”
