The Block has been savagely slammed by billionaire Adrian ‘Mr Lambo’ Portelli after the latest series came to a disappointing end on Sunday.
Billionaire Adrian Portelli wasted no time rubbing salt in the wounds of this year’s The Block contestants who failed to sell their properties on auction day.
The Block came to a dramatic conclusion on Sunday with two of the couples finishing the Channel Nine series empty-handed following a tense auction in the rural Victorian town of Daylesford.
Western Australia couple Han and Can were the only team not to have a single registered bidder and walked away without a penny to their names.
They started with an opening vendor bid of $3.1million, but the bidders felt the house simply wasn’t worth the reserve of $2.99million.

Emma and Ben’s home also failed to sell and the disappointing finale was slammed by Mr Portelli, who bought all five houses at auction last year.
The Block’s former serial bidder, often referred to as ‘Mr Lambo’, was noticeably absent from this year’s final day and wasted no time gloating over the 2025 contestants.
He posted a selfie with a string of “crickets” emojis before uploading The Block’s logo, scribbled out with Seven’s new rival show My Reno Rules written on top.
Mr Portelli jumped shipped to Seven after dominating The Block’s finales over the years with his over-the-top purchases, sometimes buying the houses for more than a million dollars over their reserve.

It’s understood the billionaire’s company is a principal sponsor for Seven’s new rival show, which is set to launch next year, and has donated two houses to be renovated during the season.
Britt and Taz were crowned the winner of this year’s The Block, with their house selling for a whopping $3.4million.
The couple netted $520,000 due to a reserve of $2.99million and a $100,000 bonus prize.
Meanwhile, Robby and Mat’s property saw them walk away with $109,000 profit after a $3.09million sale while Sonny and Alicia sold their home for $3.06million – $120,000 over their reserve of $2.94million.
Viewers were left less than impressed by Sunday’s auction as one wrote on X: “How embarrassing @Channel9 the only winners are YOU I’m out, these people deserved better #theblock.”
“They’ve got to stop the country locations, they don’t sell. Time to get back to the city. Feeling awful for the teams, it doesn’t look good #TheBlock,” another vented.
“Once again, #TheBlock producers tank contestants and the show with over inflated reserves. Time to make this show worth watching and competing in! Get back to affordable renos and realistic reserves. Right now contestants and viewers both lose,” someone else said.
