EXCLUSIVE: Samantha Armytage has made her grand return to TV for a very special show – The Golden Bachelor.
In an unseen interview the host says the series will be unlike any TV love story you’ve ever seen before.
“You will all be familiar with the original format of The Bachelor, so The Golden Bachelor is the that heritage brand but we’re moving it forward to the golden years,” Sam said of the show’s point of difference.
“We have found some wonderful, smart, sassy women in their 50s and 60s looking for love again in the second act of their lives.
“And we have one gorgeous golden bachelor Bear who these ladies will meet, and hopefully a wonderful love story.”
While Sam’s role is host, she’s also a wing woman to Bear and they’ve grown close during his quest for love.
“[Bear] has known so much grief he is an extraordinary man and I think Australia will love getting to know him,” she said.
“I know I’ve loved getting to know him, he’s really special. We were very lucky to find him.”
What Sam thinks makes The Golden Bachelor “a standout” is that the participants all have “life experience and are genuinely look for love”.
“They have amazing stories to tell and they’ve really lived some experiences,” she said.
“Some of them have children and grandchildren so they know what life’s about and they know what they want now and there’s a real power in that.
“There’s quite a few differences with this show, so it’s very exciting.”
