Just one week after this year’s season of The Block came to an end, two stars of the reality show have shared some very exciting news. Dan Reilly, who competed on the Channel 9 series in 2012 and 2013 before becoming the Foreman in 2015, took to Instagram on Sunday evening to announce that he and his wife, Dani Wales, are expecting a baby.

The sweet announcement comes almost a year after they lost their daughter, Billie, at just 10 days old. The couple posted a photo of themselves holding hands on a beach, with a rising sun illuminating Dani’s growing bump.

“As sure as the sun rises and sets each day, she is with us for this next chapter… Billie’s sibling coming 2026,” they captioned the post.

They added: “To those navigating pregnancy and infant loss, IVF, and fertility challenges — we see you.”

‘The most wonderful news’

Dan and Dani’s post was quickly flooded with supportive messages from their followers and fellow Block stars, who described it as “the most wonderful news”.

“Congratulations @dani_wales & @danreilly_official sending you both lots of love and hugs,” 2025 contestant Alicia commented, while her husband Sonny added, “That’s great news. Sending you lots of love”.

“Beautiful. So happy for you both,” Taz replied.

“We are all at home screaming with joy. The best news ever. Sending you all so much love for this next chapter,” fan favourites Tess and Luke wrote.

The Block’s Mat reveals surprise pregnancy

Dan and Dani’s announcement comes shortly after this year’s contestant, Mat, revealed that he is going to be a dad for the first time.

The 41-year-old hairdresser shared on social media last month that his baby boy is due on December 18.

In an interview with New Idea, Mat revealed that he and his good friend, Leah Cocks, who he met 20 years ago when she came into his salon, plan on co-parenting their little one.

They experienced seven years of medical roadblocks before Leah found out she was pregnant after a round of IVF during the first week of filming The Block, and she kept the news a secret from him until he returned home in Adelaide.

Emma and Ben welcome first baby

Meanwhile, Mat’s co-stars Emma and Ben recently announced the birth of their son, Bailey Colter Cox.

He was actually due three days after The Block auctions on October 28; however, Bailey arrived on Thursday, September 25, after a six-hour birth.

“He really just didn’t want to miss the auction,” Emma remarked in an interview with Woman’s Day.

“He was so determined to come into this world.”
