EXCLUSIVE: The Golden Bachelor star Kim said her “heart was left lying on the ground” when Bear sent her home right before the finale.
Although it was a tough moment, after confessing to cameras she had fallen for him, military doctor Kim told 9Entertainment she had an inkling ahead of the rose ceremony that this was the end of their journey.

“My entire job as a doctor is reading people’s body language,” Kim explained.
“I was reading the body language of the makeup artists and the hairdressers and the microphone guys who I developed a real relationship with… everybody was really quiet on the day that I went home, there was a different vibe, and I could pick it up.
“And in my heart of hearts, I knew he wasn’t going to pick me only. I thought we had a genuine connection, but I thought this is ominous.”

Despite the end, Kim didn’t regret putting herself (and her heart) on the line in front of the entire country.
“I made a connection with Bear. I feel like maybe he did his grieving a different way to me and I think we both showed each other that there was a slightly different way to do it, nothing’s right, and he’s on his own journey that way and I’m on mine.”
Kim knew that being a double widow would play a big role in her experience on the series and spoke “at length” with her adult children about how they would feel about that.
With their support, she hoped it shone through that she was still “the person that my husbands loved”.
“I’m really proud to put it out there, because I actually think for me, I didn’t get divorced, I didn’t get cheated on, I didn’t get treated with the disrespect that so many of the other women had experienced and what that’s done,” she explained.
“It sounds silly, but when you’re widowed, you don’t lose yourself, because that person still exists. You lose the person that you love, but the person that they built you up to be in your very happy marriages is still there.”

Kim said she has not gone back to dating since her exit from the series.
“I’m not going to let myself be chosen. I’m going to choose, and I have had a big break from dating and it’s been kind of refreshing,” she shared.
But, of course, she knows “closing your heart off doesn’t help anyone” and is sure her person is out there.
“I’ve had nothing but positive experience of relationships and marriage,” Kim said.
“I’ve got 30 years left and I would love to, and I know I’ve got the capacity to do it again and do it ever better. My third person in my life is going to get all the benefits of all the life experience and I hope, thrives under my love.”
