EXCLUSIVE: The Golden Bachelor has mostly been a ‘wholesome’ journey as Bear looks to find love, but when you have multiple women with feelings for the same man, it’s no surprise that sometimes things get a little awkward.

This was no more clear than between Sunny and Kim, who each built strong connections with the Golden Bachelor.

While Kim made it to Bear’s top three, she was sent home after Hometowns. Sunny is one of the final two, with Bear set to choose between her or Janette in Sunday’s grand finale.

However, during their time in the mansion, Sunny and Kim’s competitive spirit was evident.

Speaking to 9Entertainment, Kim said she wasn’t surprised to see it on screen.

“I think it would be boring if it didn’t have any of that,” she admitted.

“But my adult children are looking at me, my two daughters said, ‘Mum, stay classy,’” she laughed.

It was an odd experience to live and become close friends with others dating the same man she was growing feelings for, but Kim said most of the mansion was respectful of the situation.

“Janette and I kept quite quiet with the other girls about it, as did Jan and Gera… I knew that Janette really liked him, and she knew that I really liked him, and we both kept deliberately quiet,” she explained.

Meanwhile, Sunny said seeing the rivalry made for a “sad” watch.

“I was surprised as I never thought there was a rivalry between myself and any of the women in the mansion,” she wrote on social media.

“It was a hard experience to have feelings for Bear, and at the same time have so much love for these women who also felt the same way. But I encouraged all of them to express their feelings to Bear so they didn’t have any regrets. And I told them I would do the same.”

While Sunny’s future is up in the air until we see Bear’s final decision on Sunday, Kim said she had taken time off dating following her exit from the series – but was still confident in finding love.

“Closing your heart off doesn’t help anyone,” Kim, who has been widowed twice, said.

“I’ve got 30 years left and I would love to, and I know I’ve got the capacity to do it again and do it ever better.

“My third person in my life is going to get all the benefits of all the life experience and I hope, thrives under my love.”
