With The Golden Bachelor finale fast approaching, fans are desperate for clues as to who leading man Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden will end up with. Will he choose 61-year-old pilates studio owner Janette Bendle, 58-year-old CEO Sunny Long, or recreate Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins’ infamous Bachelor finale and choose neither?

While rumours swirled earlier this month that he would do the latter following a series of telling comments, a promo for the upcoming finale features Bear telling host Samantha Armytage that he is, in fact, “in love”. He is also shown putting a ring on a woman’s finger. So who is the mystery lady?

Interestingly, Yahoo Lifestyle has noticed that Janette recently updated her Instagram bio to say that she has joined PR queen Roxy Jacenko’s agency, Ministry Of Talent.

This may suggest that Janette didn’t find love with Bear and is instead using the experience to leverage her career — especially considering breakout star Sunny hasn’t also signed with a talent agency.

PR expert weighs in

PR expert and CEO of InsideOut PR, Nicole Reaney, told Yahoo Lifestyle that while signing up to talent management didn’t necessarily give away whether or not she won Bear’s heart, it does raise doubts about her intentions to appear on the show.

“Generally, the last of the cast begin to attract media and public attention. It’s how they leverage that and their purpose as to how much of a public profile they create,” she said.

“We’ve witnessed this over the years with many reality TV personalities forming a public or media career.

“It’s not necessarily a sign of being a winner or runner-up, but it does create a perception surrounding their purpose for participating in the series.”

Roxy Jacenko ‘thrilled’ to be working with Janette

When approached by Yahoo Lifestyle about the signing, Roxy confirmed that Ministry Of Talent is “thrilled to be working with Janette as The Golden Bachelor draws to an end”.

However, she couldn’t provide any information about Janette’s future opportunities or how she planned on continuing a career in the spotlight.

Ministry Of Talent also represents fellow Golden Bachelor contestant Catherine Kirwan, who received somewhat of a ‘villain’ edit on the show after being portrayed as overly competitive.

Jan signs with major PR agency

Meanwhile, fan favourite Jan Herdman has recently joined the PR agency DL COMMS, with director Drew Lambert telling Yahoo Lifestyle that he’s very excited to work with the 67-year-old transformation coach.

“In the last two weeks alone, my phone hasn’t stopped ringing with brands eager to work with her,” he said.

“Jan now has both the platform and the purpose to make a national impact, and I know she was put on this earth to teach Australians that healthy ageing is the key to living freely and fully.”

The Golden Bachelor finale is set to air Sunday, November 16, on Channel 9, with Bear and his finalists flying to South Africa to make his decision.
