TV’s new golden couple have emerged in public for the first time after keeping their romance under wraps for seven months.

Golden Bachelor star Barry “Bear” Myrden has broken cover with his chosen lady Sunny Long months after keeping their romance behind closed doors.

The happy couple stepped out in public for the first time on Monday, one day after the show’s finale aired on Nine, during which Bear chose the Sydney-based CEO over pilates instructor Janette Bendle.

In their first public outing, Bear, 61, and Sunny, 58, were all smiles as they stopped by Nine HQ in North Sydney for a round of interviews.

The pair went matchy-matchy in their outfits with Bear looking dapper in a grey suit while Sunny wore a fitted grey mini-dress.

The couple had to keep their relationship secret as the show aired on screens, marking a total of seven months where they had to go underground.

But since the show came to an end on Sunday night, the happy couple are free to go public.

“After 7 months of dating in secret, we can finally be public and tell the world we are happily together!” Sunny gushed on Instagram earlier today as she shared some never-before-seen, loved-up photos of herself and Bear.

In a new interview with Woman’s Day, Sunny also explained how they managed to keep their romance a secret as the series played out on screens.

According to the businesswoman, there were many secret meetings at Airbnbs where they had to be sure not to be seen arriving or leaving together.

“We couldn’t stand by the windows,” she told the magazine, before saying to Bear, “I think you said it was a bit of fun sneaking around, there was a bit of excitement?”

“You know, it was a bit, he’s Mr Bond, I’m his Bond girl,” she cheekily added.

As for Bear, he told the masthead that Sunny “was always at the top of the list” while hinting that marriage may be in their future.

“We’ve got a lot of things to discuss,” he added when asked about a possible engagement between them.

During the finale, Bear gave Sunny a stunning diamond promise ring as he proclaimed his love for her atop a rock in South Africa.

“When I think about the future, the life I want to live, and how I want to spend the rest of my days, I can’t imagine doing it without you. I feel so lucky to have found you. I love you,” he said.

A delighted Sunny responded, “I never imagined I’d be the one standing here, and I couldn’t be happier that Bear fell in love with me.”

“This journey has been a whirlwind of laughter and growth. This is the start of something really beautiful for Bear and I.”
