‘I was so tired that night.’

My Kitchen Rules finalist Maria Zisi has shared a scary life update following her appearance on the show.

Last week, Zisi revealed she had been the victim of theft, claiming on TikTok her car had been broken into.

The Adelaide-based ‘cookie queen’ reached MKR’s finale alongside her friend Bailey, ultimately losing to fan favourites — NSW dads Justin Rolleston and Will Mataka.

Since wrapping up on MKR, Zisi has poured her energy into her cookie brand, Blondie’s Bakehouse, even running a pop-up shop in Adelaide’s Rundle Mall this weekend.

But, Zisi said her precious cookies were among the items allegedly stolen from her car last week.

“Hey guys, someone broke into my car last night,” Zisi said in the TikTok video posted on December 2.

“And they got my cookies, my jacket and some money.”

Trying to make light of the situation, she addressed the thieves directly, advising if they planned to eat her sought-after cookies — especially the red velvet and Dubai chocolate flavours — to “please enjoy”.

“They are our best sellers,” Zisi added.

“So please, please, please heat it up in the microwave for 10 seconds, so they’re nice and gooey.”

Followers were quick to question why Zisi had left both money and cookies in her car overnight.

The former MKR contestant explained: “Because I am silly! And I was so tired that night.”

Meanwhile, fans who’ve tried her creations praised the sweet treats that have helped establish her growing reputation.

Throughout this year’s MKR season, Zisi frequently showcased her cookie-making talents.

While the Adelaide boss friends were at times called out for strategic scoring, they ultimately proved they deserved their place, securing a spot in the finale.

Both teams went all-in, preparing four courses — a canapé, seafood dish, meat dish and dessert — producing 100 plates as they raced against the clock.

Judges Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge agreed both teams had earned their place, with Colin saying it was “one of the most exciting cooks I’ve seen in a grand final in a long time”.

For the final course, Zisi took a risk by making her red velvet and cream cheese cookie. Although it scored a perfect 10, the NSW dads clinched the title by a single point.

Moments before announcing the winners, Manu added: “This is the closest grand final I can remember.”

Since the competition, Zisi has turned her focus to expanding Blondie’s Bakehouse, announcing on Tuesday she plans to open her first shopfront in 2026.
