Robert Irwin has been open about the fact that he’s looking to find his own “American tourist” after both his dad, Steve Irwin, and his sister, Bindi Irwin, found love with people from the US. The Wildlife Warrior, who is due to perform the US version of Dancing With the Stars in just hours, has been inundated with messages from women hoping they have what it takes to capture his heart.

But fans believe he may have already found that woman. They are convinced that the 21-year-old is dating one of the Dancing With the Stars troupe dancers — these are the backup dancers who appear in opening numbers and other performances as needed.

Hailey Bills, 19, is the young dancer who has apparently caught Robert’s eye, with the rumour mill in full swing after celebrity gossip account Deuxmoi received a tip-off about the pairing.

“Everyone’s favourite DWTS bachelor has paused his search for his American dream girl to have some play time beyond the ballroom,” the tip read.

“My source tells me he’s been spotted a few times… getting cosy with a brunette… The same one he follows around on set.

“Notice how she’s the only troupe member he follows on [Instagram]?”

It’s true: Robert follows only 300 people, and Hailey is one of the select few.

The pair appeared in a light-hearted video shared by fellow troupe dancer Carter Williams, in which the four backup dancers welcomed Robert into the group for a dance.

“Our newest troupe?! Squad goals [for real],” Carter captioned the video.

One fan commented, “Robert and Hailey are definitely dating.”

“Robert and Hailey are super cute together,” another added.

“He’s literally going back to Australia after the season and she’s going on tour, this has -zero logic,” a third wrote on Deuxmoi’s post.

Others suggested that Robert may have just been hanging out with the troupe dancers because they’re all a similar age, while some believed it was a “baseless rumour” with “no proof”.

It follows Robert’s recent sharing of what he’s looking for in a partner.

The blushing Irwin didn’t hold back, revealing qualities that match his good nature.

“Honestly, I think I look for someone who’s adventurous — absolutely,” Robert told E! News.

“Also someone who’s really kind, and compassionate, I just love being around people that are positive and that are passionate.”

He said it was important to find someone who had a life they were excited about so he could find “where our passions can come together”.

“That’s really, really fun,” the 21-year-old said.

A sense of humour was also a big drawcard for the Aussie dancer.

“Someone just to have a good laugh with,” he said.

“It’s important to be around people that don’t take life and themselves too seriously, you know?”

The Aussie star joked that he felt embarrassed answering the question in front of his dance partner, Witney Carson, who he has described as being like another protective older sister.

Witney has been fielding messages and emails in recent weeks from eager women, hoping to connect them with the conservationist.

“This is so funny, talking about this in front of Witney,” a bashful Robert said, while his dance partner sarcastically added that she “loves” this topic of conversation.

Fans were again enamoured by the Australian star, describing him as “pure” and “sweet”.

“Me? I can do that,” one hopeful commented.

“I just love this, it is what I am looking for in a person,” while another added.
