Owned by Australian racing royalty, the Waterhouse family, the 150-year-old property is currently under the ownership of Janette Waterhouse, the former wife of David Waterhouse (who is the son of the late Bill Waterhouse: businessman, barrister, and one of the biggest bookmakers in the world). Janette and David purchased Tresco in 2004 for $11 million, and attempted to find a buyer in 2024, listing it for $120 million. It failed to sell at the time, but the family is reportedly still looking for a buyer.
