Samantha Armytage has wowed fans in recent months with her remarkable physical transformation – and now she’s revealed exactly how she achieved it.

Samantha Armytage has divulged the secrets behind her “gorgeous” appearance after fans gushed that she is ageing “like Benjamin Button” and “looks younger” than ever in the comments of her latest Instagram post.

The Channel Nine star has had a transformative year, including a major operation, the breakdown of her marriage, and her move to the Nine Network after being a fixture on Channel Seven for more than 20 years.

Opening up about her new look, Armytage, 49, revealed she’s feeling “strong, healthy, happy” and “at a really nice time” in her life.

She explained that her health overhaul came after she finally underwent a hip replacement in July 2024, following years of agonising pain.

The Golden Bachelor presenter had been suffering from debilitating osteoarthritis in her right hip after she “tore all the cartilage” in a skiing accident 30 years ago.

“In the lead up to [the hip replacement], the last couple of years, I haven’t been that active because I had been in a lot of pain.

“I had a major operation last year, and from that, I sort of woke up out of that, literally feeling a bit renewed and refreshed, and not in chronic pain,” Armytage told Chrissie Swan in October.

“I’ve been doing lots of yoga ever since, because when you have a joint replaced, you don’t want to have the other joints replaced.

“We all get to this age where things start to change and creak. So I’ve just been working on fitness and health,” she added.

Armytage said she never set out to transform the way she looks, but noted that “when you feel good, you look good”.

It comes after the former Sunrise star confirmed her split from husband Richard Lavender last year, after four years of marriage.

Announcing the news in December 2024, Armytage said the split was “amicable”, but that the breakdown of her marriage had been “hard”.

Speaking one year on, Armytage described 2025 as a new chapter with “a lot of change”.

Not only is she going through a divorce, but she’s also grappled with the death of her beloved dog, learned to walk again, and navigated the move from Channel Seven to Channel Nine.

“Last year was a big year. There was a lot of change and a lot of grief. [My dog] was my baby. Then I had a total hip replacement, and I literally had to learn to walk again.

“I left my marriage, renovated a house from my hospital bed, changed TV networks, changed jobs.

“But I moved into 2025 in such a positive way. I feel this is my Act Two. I get another go here,” she said on the Something to Talk About podcast in October.

Armytage is currently filling in as a host on Channel Nine’s Today show alongside radio star Michael Wipfli. The duo are covering for usual hosts Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo while they take a break over Christmas.
