Britt and Taz have done well on this season of The Block, and the fan-favourite couple were hoping to keep their hot streak going with their alfresco deck and shed transformation.
However, their latest reveal left the judges stunned – and not entirely impressed.
The West Australian couple had poured their hearts into their outdoor space, featuring a barbecue, pizza oven and even a teppanyaki plate.
While conducting an inspection, judge Darren Palmer initially said the outdoor space looked ‘gorgeous’ with ‘a lot of amenity’, and Marty Fox praised the simplicity, saying it was ‘perfect’.
Even Shaynna Blaze agreed the contestants were ‘selling the dream’ with the alfresco area design.
But the good vibes quickly ran into trouble once the judges stepped into the adjacent indoor shed.

Originally planned as a rumpus and Pilates studio, the space had been hastily converted into a wine bar – and the seams appeared to be showing.
Darren was dumbfounded: ‘Is this a shed?’ he asked, scratching his head.
Marty agreed with Darren’s scathing assessment: ‘It feels like a speakeasy, doesn’t it?’
Then came the bombshell, as Darren revealed the space appeared to be ‘illegal’ and ‘non-compliant’, citing the decision to convert a planned rumpus room into a wine shed as a ‘fundamental flaw’ that could render the property ‘unsellable.’
‘It’s got gyprock-lined walls, gyprock-lined ceiling, flooring on the floor,’ an unimpressed Darren told the fellow judges.
‘I don’t know if this is going to get signed off. This is such a gamble,’ Marty added.
Despite the drama, Shaynna praised Britt and Taz’s attention to detail and eye for design, calling it ‘incredible’ work.
‘Their time management, their attention to detail and their eye is one of the best we’ve seen,’ Shaynna said.

It comes after The Block fan favourites Britt and Taz came to the defence of co-stars Sonny and Alicia after the pair were targeted by vicious online trolls.
The couple have admitted that while tensions on the show are high, they do not support any form of hate being directed at their fellow contestants.
‘We absolutely do not condone any comments from trolls and stuff like that. We deal with mental health on a daily basis with our work. Cyberbullying and trolling is one of the very big excesses on mental health,’ Taz told Yahoo Lifestyle last month.
‘It just absolutely takes a toll and deteriorates people. So we do not condone any of that. We do feel for Sonny and Alicia, who are copping the brunt of it.’
Sonny and Alicia have faced relentless trolling throughout this year’s season, with criticism targeting them both professionally and personally, with their home design skills – and fiery personalities – frequently being criticised.
So severe has the online hate been that The Block’s official social media accounts last week issued a stern warning, declaring that ‘personal attacks, negativity and trolling will not be tolerated’.
