Love Island Australia’s Yana Markshas has leapt to the defence of fellow castmate Izzy Vella following her dramatic exit from the villa.

The plumber from Sydney says viewers should not believe everything they see on the Channel Nine dating show.

‘She is such a beautiful f***ing girl and she deserves so much love,’ she told Daily Mail.

When asked which cast member was getting a good edit on the show, but was really awful behind the scenes, Yana was quick to shut speculation down.

‘Oh no. I am not gonna talk s**t on anyone. That is not what I am about,’ she said.

Despite the bumpy start, Yana insists she walked away from the experience on good terms with her fellow castmates.

‘I am cool with everyone,’ she added.

‘I have seen a few people since leaving – there is no one I am avoiding.’

She says the unexpected highlight of her time on the show was forming a close bond with Gabby, a friendship she never saw coming.

‘We are so opposite, and when she came in I thought she was crazy and too much,’ Yana explained.

‘Then we ended up being like best friends. Opposites attract.’

Yana recently opened up to WHO Magazine about one of the toughest moments of the season – coming face to face with her ex-boyfriend Kye inside the villa.

‘I was so mind-blown. I was not expecting it at all,’ she said.

‘That was probably the lowest time of my life… I’ve never felt that kind of pain before.’

The pair had dated for a year before breaking up, and Yana admitted the emotional shock hit her harder than producers or viewers realised.

‘With the whole Kye situation – that guy played a lot of mind games on me at the time that we were together,’ she said.

‘So I thought applying to Love Island and going on this new experience would finally get me out there, get me back into the whole dating scene, as well as helping me get over everything that I went through with Kye.’
