Married At First Sight’s Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli have revealed the sex of their unborn baby. The couple told their followers last month that they were expecting their second child, and they enlisted their son, Lucius, for the big update.

The former MAFS stars gave Martha’s uncle, Enzo, a sealed envelope and had him tell Lucius whether it was a boy or a girl. In a hilarious video, the pair repeatedly asked Lucius “what secret did Enzo tell you?”

The video ended on a “to be continued” cliffhanger, and fans finally got the answer on Wednesday night with a second clip.

“Is it a boy?” they asked Enzo, who responded, “It’s a girl!”

The entire room erupted in surprise and celebration and the pair appeared ecstatic.

“Guys, Enzo’s crying,” Martha pointed out as her uncle defended himself.

“It’s emotional!” he said.

Martha and Michael’s friends and followers were very excited for the pair, with influencer and designer Nadia Bartel saying it was “the best news ever”.

“This is the best!! No fancy reveal just family sharing happiness,” a fan wrote. “Of course each to their own but this is very special!”

“Why has this made me happier than anything else in 2025?” another joked.

“How refreshing, not a muffin, cake or exhaust fume in sight,” a third agreed.

Many others wrote that they loved the low-key way the couple chose to do the reveal, with one person even saying it “gave me chills”.

For the initial announcement, Martha shared a sweet video of Lucius kissing her bump and revealed in the caption that she is once again battling hyperemesis gravidarum.

She previously suffered from the severe form of morning sickness while pregnant with Lucius, and it saw her lose 10kg in the first five weeks due to severe chronic nausea and vomiting.

“Knocked up n’ knocked out. Will be back bigger and better soon… fingers crossed!” she captioned the post.

Kate Middleton also famously suffered with hyperemesis gravidarum, which can sometimes require hospitalisation due to the excessive vomiting, nausea, weight loss and dehydration.

Symptoms often subside by the second trimester, though some will experience them throughout pregnancy.
