Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson’s radio show is heading to another new city after a rocky start to the show’s expansion into Melbourne.

KISS FM announced the radio show will begin airing in Perth at the annual Australian Radio Network Upfronts (ARN) in Sydney yesterday.

“In Perth, Kyle and Jackie O will launch in the market on the DAB+ station. Are we planning to take the show into other markets at this point? No,” KIIS Chief Audience and Content Officer Lauren Joyce told Media Week.

The duo will hit Perth’s airways in 2026 after the show first expanded into Melbourne in 2024.

Kyle & Jackie O first failed to break into the Melbourne radio market, with Kyle himself admitting the rollout was a disaster, and publicly blasting the radio’s executives for the botched rollout.

“Well, I blame you guys, in all honesty. I blame you guys. What we should have done is roll this out nationally from day one. Put our balls in our hand and f–ing moved forward,” he said to ARN CEO Ciaran Davis on stage at the IMAA Sound Bite conference earlier this year.

The radio due faced issues at first in the Melbourne market due to low ratings.

Their signature shock jock style was a bit too intense for Melbourne listeners, who weren’t used to the blunt, opinionated takes of the pair.

Their rollout in the city was dubbed a “flop” until they switched up their show in order to compete in ratings.

After their pivot, the GFK radio survey in May revealed they had successfully taken over a chunk of the Melbourne radio audience.

The executives are looking to have the same success in Perth, but Joyce said they are more focused on the wider picture.

“We are definitely paying attention to the numbers, but for us, we look at total footprint,” she told B&T.

“We’ll look at a combination of those numbers, our streaming numbers, the podcast numbers, and then our socials.

“The future of entertainment really isn’t sitting in one medium. It’s about being where our audiences are and delivering the content in the format that they’re choosing to consume.

“So we’re focused on building out the entire footprint, not just the audio”.

KISS has already expanded into Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne, with the Perth expansion solidifying their national reach.

However, the Kyle & Jackie O show only airs in Sydney and Melbourne currently.
