“We’re very happy to see Mark gone.”

MKR 2025 Maria Bailey Feud Mark Tan

The My Kitchen Rules’ (MKR) drama is heating up off-screen, with Mark and Tan recently revealing the state of their relationship with Maria and Bailey. In an elimination interview with New Idea, Mark fuelled rumours of a feud, saying the pair “don’t really speak to Maria and Bailey”. However, Maria and Bailey have hit back, saying they’re on great terms with Tan.

“That’s quite interesting, because Maria and I talk to Tan every single day, and we have for a long time. We don’t talk to Mark as often,” Bailey tells Chattr. “We’re actually invited to Tan’s birthday coming up, so hopefully Mark will be there to celebrate with him.”

While Tan is on speed dial, the MKR contestants aren’t the biggest fans of Mark. “We definitely would say hello if we saw him, if we walked by him on the street. But we don’t, I guess, go out of our way,” Bailey adds. “I think everyone has a lot of big opinions personally, so sometimes you just don’t get along, and that’s okay.”

Mark and Tan were recently cut from the competition, and Maria adds that while she was “happy to see Mark” go, she wished Tan could have carried on in the competition. “We love Tan, and we are very upset that he had to carry the team, and it didn’t work out for him,” Maria explains.

Mark annoyed the MKR contestants early on when he discovered Maria owned Blondie’s Bakehouse and accused her of being a professional cook.

“We didn’t get along kind of from the get-go,” Bailey recalls. “The first time we met Mark, he was really going at Maria, and we thought, that’s just really not a nice first impression. So I think it just naturally continued to stay in that direction, our relationship with Mark.”

Are there any feuds amongst the MKR 2025 cast?

While there have been some heated spats on screen between several contestants, the fights haven’t continued behind the scenes. Maria and Bailey claim to be in regular contact with the MKR cast.

“We speak to absolutely everybody almost daily,” Bailey says. “It appears [we only have a feud with Mark].”

Mark also previously told Chattr that he was on good terms with Michael and Rielli. “At the end of the day, it’s like when you jump onto a field or something in a game, you know you’re going to be competitive,” he said.

“Off the field, you know what I mean, it’s different. I don’t think they’re bad people. I think they’re quite nice, but I think they probably just go a little bit far with certain things.”

Maria and Bailey are set to compete in the semi-final against Lol and Lil, with the winner advancing to the MKR grand finale. It’s going to be a tough cook!
