My Kitchen Rules (MKR) 2025 contestants Lol and Lil have been receiving some nasty hate comments over their outfit choices, with some critics saying the two women have been choosing dresses that reveal too much. The pair aren’t bothered by the comments, but call it “ridiculous” and “kind of funny”.

“Most of the comments are being made by women who are a bit older,” Lil tells Chattr. “I just think that surely by the time you reach 70 or 80, you would have a bit more decency and understand that you shouldn’t tear down women based on what they look like.

“It’s just kind of a bit ridiculous. I’m sure probably over half of them have grandchildren our age or kids our age, and I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t talk to them like that.”

Lol notes that their relatives likely “dress the exact same way”, and says the pair are “comfortable” with what they wear. “We’ve got it, so why not flaunt it?” she jokes. “If they have a problem with that, I think they should just turn the screens off.”

The pair have been busy responding to haters online, with Lil recently revealing she had received 5.7 million views in the past month thanks to all of the engagement on her posts. She’s not fussed by the hate comments and welcomes them because they help raise her profile.

“At the end of the day, I get more engagement. And also it’s kind of funny… you can’t take it too seriously,” Lil says. “These people don’t know me from a bar of soap, they don’t know who I am, so why would I let someone’s opinion of me impact my happiness? I just wouldn’t do that.”

Lil and Lol’s family and friends are “upset” about their clothing backlash

While Lil and Lol aren’t so bothered by the comments about their “revealing” outfits, those closest to them are a bit concerned.

“They’re over it more than us. I think they’re like, ‘What? They don’t even know you! That’s not who you are’,” Lil explains. “They get a bit upset about it, but we are strong enough to not let it affect us.”

Lol adds that if people have “nothing better to do with their time… than comment really poor comments” about their clothing, it simply “says more about them”.

The pair also reveal that producers have the final say on their wardrobe, so everything is “approved” before they wear it on camera. “Obviously, the camera likes certain things, patterns and things like that, so we put forward what we like,” Lol says. “You have to get approval [on what] to wear for each dinner, and everything. Yes, your clothes are all approved by producers.”

It’s good to see that their spirits haven’t been dampened by all the negativity online!
